Pollination of date palms was carried out by hand. This is a Real Photo Post Card, meaning that it was created by a process in which any photographer could take a "snapshot," deliver the negative to a photo developer and have it printed on a postcard backing. The EKKP papers used for this photograph were issued from 1904-1950, according to the letters inside the stamp box on the back. Frasher used this process from 1920 to 1955 for "Frasher's Fotos."
