Distribution: Lollesgard Specialty Co., Tucson, Arizona
This is a split picture postcard of the "linen" variety, with an illustration of US Highway 80 through Sand Hills (Algodones Dunes, characterized here as "The American Sahara") on the left, and one of the "Old Plank Road" through the same area in 1925 on the right. The Old Plank Road was used from 1914 to 1927 to traverse shifting sand dunes. It was 7 miles long, in sections measuring 8 X 12 feet meant to be moveable when necessary. The number in the lower right corner is 7A-H1764, which, according to the guide maintained by the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, translates to 1937. The number in the upper left corner is probably the distributor's, M-11.
