Mrs. J. P. Rice,
San Diego, Calif., Dear Madam:-
The enclosed correspondence explains itself. You will observe that my assistant, Mr. McIntyre, thinks we cannot afford to prepare the lunch, etc., for less than $1.00 per person. I will, if necessary, make an arbitrary reduction of 25 cents per person, and, if we lose, stand the loss. However, we will give you a very fine lunch for this price.
Please return the correspondence, if you think the teachers will be able to stand the expense.
Yours truly,
E.S. Babcock
