K.H. Wade, Esq.,
G.M.S.C.R'y Co.,
Los Angeles, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
I am not a man to receive false impressions, usually, about feelings entertained by officials of your company; but I am more firmly convinced than ever that, for some reason, Mr Keeler has either a wrong impression or is prejudiced.

I know your good opinion of Mr Keeler, and I do not write this letter for the purpose of complaining or of calling the matter to your attention, unless he brings the question up officially; nor is this letter to be received as being send in an official sense, but simply as a personal friend.

I enclose you a copy of my letter to Mr Keeler, of even date that you may see the situation.

I am aware that, when the last car load of meat arrived, our bookkeeper, under the supposition he has the bill of lading, told Mr Keeler he had it, and that it afterwards developed the bill of lading was not here, However, that matter was made good to Mr Keeler immediately, and he was assured by me that under no circumstances would he lose anything. The action of Swift & Co., the shippers of the former car load of meat, has caused that firm the loss of any future business from us; and I have concluded to do with poorer beef rather than be subjected to similar treatment to that received in connection with the car load of meat just received from Armour & Co.

If Mr Keeler is afraid to trust us to the extent of a freight bill on a car load of meat, he might let us know in advance how much it will be. We cannot tell from the bill of lading, without the classification, what the freight should be, as the articles invoiced to us take four different rates.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock.
