Chas. N. Myer, Esq.,
344 E. 59th Street,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Sir: - I have your favor of the 17th inst., We are looking for some person to take full charge of our pastry and bakery department. During the months of May, June, and July, we run light, probably not over 100 to 125 people. During Aug. and Sept. from 125 to 150 people. October, 75 to 100 guests. Nov. 100 to 150. December probably 200. Jan. 300. February, March and part of April, from 400 to 700 people.

Should like to know what you would charge for a permanent engagement by the month, and with the above housecount how many and what priced assistants you would want.

I send you under another cover a pamphlet descriptive of the place. It certainly is the pleasantest place in the world to live.

As we think well of your recommendation, it might be well for you to send a telegram, if you are inclined to come out at a reasonable figure. Until we should know more about you we could not pay any advance fare, it being the rule of this house not to do that.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock,
Manager
