M. Brown, Esq.

Dear Sir:- We have determined not to sell liquor to employees over the bar, and hereafter you will please enforce this strictly, showing this letter if any of them seem to take offense. I find some of our mechanics are drinking too much for their own good, and if they insist on drinking they must go outside and get it. We will make it as inconvenient as possible for them, and if they persist in drinking too much we shall have to dispense with their services.

Yours truly, E. S. Babcock
