Gentlemen:-
We find on comparing the quality, prices, etc., of table cloths, that J. H. Walker & Co., of Chicago, for goods apparently equal to that you offer, for much less figure, and we have, therefore, placed the order with that firm. I regret this, as I wished to give you the preference.
When we receive the goods, I will, if you like, send you sample of each kind, with the price paid, so that the gentleman in charge of that department of your house may compare notes.
Your firm quoted us price on table cloths 7/4 x 7/4. We wanted prices on goods 7 ft. x 7 ft., on which we obtained a figure from J. H. Walker & Co., of 3.17 ½ each.
