We are having a better season this year than last, and I am also satisfied that the coming Summer and Fall will be a great improvement over the same time of the previous year, and that we are going to have a very large patronage from now on: I would like to have you connected with me and be certain that you have the ability to, handle the whole question economically and as well as you do the office and front part of the house.
The force in the hotel is well organized, with good office staff, the only thing needed now being a Chef to take the place of our present Chef.
I wrote you about another man who claimed to be Chef at your hotel, L. Ligon, and if we cannot get Mergenthaler, do you think the other man would answer?
Am afraid I cannot get up to the city very soon. Should like very much to have you come down, if possible, while the railroad convention is being held, convening the 15th inst. Can you not bring your wife down and see us?

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock Jr.
